Ukrainian violist Anastasiia Gerasina was born in Kyiv and obtained her Bachelor’s degree with Christian Euler at the University of the Arts Graz, Austria. During this time, she participated in the SEMP and the Erasmus+ Program, which enabled her to study one semester at the Zurich University of the Arts with Lawrence Power and one semester at Berlin University of the Arts with Hartmut Rohde.
Anastasiia Gerasina attaches great importance to contemporary music. She had the honour of performing The Corridor by Harrison Birtwistle at the Graz Opera. In October 2020, she participated in the world premiere of the opera Populus by Peter Jakober.
Chamber and orchestral music, however, have been always her great passion and interest. She has participated in numerous youth orchestras and summer academies, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, Ticino Musica Festival and the Moritzburg Festival Academy.
As she is also a violinist, Anastasiia Gerasina has joined the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl Orchestra as concertmaster and soloist in the 2019/22 seasons.
