Born in Barcelona, Andrea García is currently studying a Master degree at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, Austria, with Meesun Hong Coleman. She completed her Bachelor degree at ESMUC in Barcelona, Spain, with Helena Satué, Lina Tur and Kai Gleusteen. She received chamber music lessons from Cuarteto Casals and Kennedy Moretti.
In summer 2022, she was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra, and since 2020, she has been a member of the Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE). Andrea has collaborated with Orquesta Da Camera in Spain and has been an academist in the Mahler Chamber Orchestra in 2019 and 2022, working with Pekka Kuusisto and Philippe Herreweghe. From 2016 to 2022, she was a member and concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC).
Andrea has participated in different courses, academies and masterclasses such as Landesmusikakademie Hessen (Germany), Academia Internacional de Música de Oviedo (Spain), Académie Internationale de Musique du Prades (France) or Aurora Music Festival Stockholm (Sweden). She has received lessons from international violinists such as Veronika Eberle, Annelie Gahl, Lily Francis, Clara Flieder, Eszter Haffner, Boris Garlitsky, Gordan Nikolich or Sergey Teslya.
Andrea has been awarded in national and international competitions such as King’s Peak International Online Music Competition, Danubia Talents Wiener Klassik Competition, BBVA Price to Individual Talent, Barcelona Strings Competition and Arjau Music Competition.
Andrea has recently participated in the contemporary music festival Leicht über Linz, and played in a chamber music project alongside prestigious violinist Boris Garlitsky. She has been invited to Musethica sessions and festival 2023–24 and will participate in the summer chamber music festival Músics en Residència 2023 in Alella, Spain.
