Denis Linnik was born in Maryina Horka, Belarus. He began his piano studies at the age of seven in the local music school. From 2004 to 2017 Denis studied with renowned Belarusian Professors Tatiana Sergievskaya and Vladmir Nekhaenko, first at the Akhremchik College of Arts, then at the Belarusian State Academy of Music in Minsk. Since 2017, Denis has been studying at Hochschule für Musik Basel with Claudio Martínez Mehner and additionally, since 2021, with Zoltan Fejervari.

In 2022, his debut CD Night Wind was released on KNS Classical Label, featuring pieces by Janáček, Brahms and Medtner. In the same year, he played a recital Schloss Ettlingen, Germany, which was broadcasted on SWR2 in January 2023.

In recent years, he has participated in international festivals such as ArtDIALOG, Wien Modern, SOLsberg, 100% Classique and Gstaad Menuhin Festival.

Denis is a prize-winner of competitions such as The Cliburn Competition (USA 2022), ARD Competition (Germany 2022), Rome Piano Competition (2022), Kiefer Hablitzel Music Prize (Zurich 2022), Orpheus Chamber Music Competition (with Camerata Rhein Trio, Winterthur 2020), Cantú Piano and Orchestra Competition (2018), Horowitz Competition (Kiev 2017) and others.

His orchestral biography includes performances with the Basel Symphony Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Roma Tre Orchestra, National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, String Orchestra Metamorphose, M. Jora Philharmonic Orchestra and others.

In addition to solo performances, a good half of Denis’ musical activity is occupied by chamber music – often in duets with cello/violin or as part of a trio – and contemporary music. As répétiteur and ensemble member, Denis took part in productions of three contemporary operas by composers Michael Hersch, Du Yun and Pascal Dusapin over the past year, and was invited to the position of accompanist for contemporary music at Bern University of Music.
