Ivan Bašić | SRB | *1996
Ivan Bašić was born in Belgrade and started playing the piano at the age of seven. After graduating with honors from the Belgrade University of Arts he moved to Zurich in 2017 to complete his postgraduate studies. Masterclasses with renowned artists complemented his studies.
Ivan Bašić is considered one of the leading musicians from Serbia. Nominated Serbian Young Musician of the Year in 2013 (Muzika Klasika magazine) he has been a multiple prize winner at international competitions as well as a regular participant at the biggest contest stages around the world. In February 2020 he was awarded the Kiefer Hablitzel | Göhner Musikpreis, a top acknowledgement for young musicians in Switzerland.
His concert performances have taken Ivan Bašić across Europe, Egypt and Japan, and he has performed at Serbia’s most prominent festival stages. He has been a soloist with the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) Orchestra, Nis Symphony Orchestra, Amoroso Chamber orchestra, the leading ensembles of Serbia.
As a chamber musician, Ivan Bašić has collaborated with numerous musicians. In the last years, he has been actively performing in a piano trio with Una Stanić and Irena Josifoska.
Ivan Bašić has been a keen promoter of contemporary Serbian music, having premiered the works of Aleksandar S. Vujić, Predrag Repanić, Igor Jaćimović and many more.
