Ardemus Quartet | Tenorsaxophon
Saxophonist Jenita Veurink plays with her two permanent chamber music ensembles, the Ardemus Quartet and the Nederlands Saxofoon Octet, on many stages in the Netherlands and abroad. From small intimate concert programmes to large music theatre productions, with these two ensembles she creates and performs many diverse programmes.
Jenita released her debut album Traces with the Ardemus Quartet in 2019, followed by an album with the Nederlands Saxofoon Octet in which they recorded Simeon ten Holt’s Canto Ostinato. This year the Ardemus Quartet released its latest EP Pulse.
With the Ardemus Quartet, Jenita has won many prizes at both national and international competitions, including the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan (2017). In 2018, the quartet toured through the Netherlands as a finalist of the Dutch Classical Talent Award.
In addition to these two permanent ensembles, Jenita regularly substitutes with orchestras such as Phion, Philharmonie Zuidnederland, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble.
Jenita studied chamber music at the Dutch String Quartet Academy (2015–2017). Before that, she successfully graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam for her Master of Music in saxophone with Arno Bornkamp (2012–2015). With Johan van der Linden she finished her Bachelor of Music at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Enschede, Netherlands (2006–2010).
