Born in Texas, USA, Kiki Shibayama started the violin at the age of 10 in Thailand and continued her education in Indonesia and in Japan. During her studies at Tokyo Metropolitan High School of Arts, she won the audition to be selected as a representative of the school and played solo at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theater.

Kiki Shibayama holds a Bachelor degree from Toho Gakuen School of Music where she studied with Tomoko Kato. From September 2019, she studied with Rudens Turku in Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium (Austria) and graduated with distinction in spring 2021. Later that year, she started her Masters in solo violin at Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Nadja Nevolovitsch. Masterclasses from professors such as Daniel Gaede, Naoko Tanaka and Federico Agostini complete her curriculum.

Kiki Shibayama has been successively accepted three times to participate in the Junior Honour Orchestra of the Association for Music in International Schools and has played in Singapore, London and Vienna. She was selected as a member of Seiji Ozawa Music Academy and played at the Ozawa Matsumoto Festival (2016, 2017, 2019) as well as the Opera Project (2017). She was also chosen as a participant of Music Masters Course Japan (2017, 2019) and Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy Okushiga (2019).

Kiki Shibayama has participated in several music academies and festivals such as International Music Institute & Festival USA, InterHarmony Music Festival Germany, International Summer Academy Mozarteum and Feldkircher Streichertage, where she was granted scholarships.

In 2020, she won the audition of Festkonzert in the conservatory and was selected to play Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the orchestra. Furthermore, she won the audition and was accepted to participate in the Styriarte Festspiel Orchestra Youth (under Maestro Andrés Orozco-Estrada) and Hundisburg Summer Music Academy. She has also joined in Sinfonieorchester Vorarlberg for the Bregenzer Festspiele and Nordic Symphony Orchestra in Estonia. She has been playing in the Sinfonieorchester Vorarlberg since August.

Since November 2021, Kiki Shibayama is an academist with the Niederrheinische Sinfoniker. She recently won the audition as the principal 2nd violin in the Orchestre National des Jeunes du Luxembourg as well as the position as an academist in Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal and is planned to participate in the Ticino Musica Festival Orchestra.
