Krystyna Wasik was born in Wrocław, Poland. She started learning the violin at the age of 7, having already played the piano for few years. She studied at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław with Christian Danowicz and Tomasz Tomaszewski, at La Haute École de Musique de Genève with Tedi Papavrami and at the Kunstuniversität Graz with Dominika Falger.
Krystyna has been a member of various ensembles and orchestras that have offered her the opportunity to perform throughout Europe and Asia, including the Festival Radio France in Montpellier, Moritzburg Festival, Vier Jahreszeiten Riehen in Basel, La Folle Journée Festival, Music Gardens Festival in Warsaw and as part of Robeco SummerNights at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. She has also performed with different chamber music groups at the Philharmonie Berlin as part of the popular Lunchkonzerte series organised in support of UNICEF.
In addition to her classical work, Krystyna also collaborates on a regular basis with the National Stary Theatre in Krakow and records film music at Synchron Stage Vienna, working for labels such as Disney, Marvel and Hans Zimmer. She is currently based in Vienna.
