Born in London, Laura Ochmann began playing the violin at the age of four. In 2013, she was admitted to the Pre-College Cologne as a student of Ute Hasenauer and received instruction and inspiration from Saschko Gawriloff, Pinchas Zukerman, Irina Goldstein und Arabella Steinbacher during this time. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts in Marco Rizzi’s class.

The young violinist had her orchestral debut with the Frankfurt Symphony Orchestra at the age of eight, followed by various soloistic performances with orchestra including WDR Symphony Orchestra, Rhein Main Philharmonics, Thüringen Philharmonic Orchestra and New Philharmonic Orchestra of Westphalia. She has already given solo recitals and performed in various prestigious concert venues as Kölner Philharmonie, Basilica of Kloster Eberbach and Alte Oper Frankfurt.

Being a versatile musician, Laura Ochmann also enjoys playing chamber music as member of a piano trio and participates in orchestra projects like the International Orchestra Institute Attergau, IOIA, and the Vienna Philharmonic.

Laura Ochmann won numerous prizes and awards, including first and special prize of the Mendelssohn Competition for Young String Soloists in Kronberg (Germany), second prize of the International Competition Grumiaux for Young Soloists in Belgium, first prize of the European Competition of Young Soloists in Luxembourg, and first prize of the FLAME Competition in Paris.
