Young Polish percussionist Marianna Bednarska runs an active concert activity, not only as a soloist but also as a chamber music performer, orchestra musician and percussion teacher. She is regularly invited to international music festivals and cooperates with recognized personalities of the musical world.

She is a laureate of the International Geneva Competition 2019, winner of the Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes 2019 and a winner of 24 first prizes in international percussion and marimba competitions, among others in Chicago (2016), Bamberg (2016), Paris (2009), Fermo (2008) or Plovdiv (2007). She is also a finalist of the Polish Eurovision Competition 2009. She was awarded with artistic scholarships in Poland, Switzerland and Germany, and received the Polish-Danish Friendship Award in 2013 for her exceptional artistic activity between these countries.

Marianna Bednarska began her artistic path at Karol Szymanowski Music School in Warsaw with the piano, which was soon replaced by classical percussion instruments. After the graduation she completed her Bachelor degree at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart and the Master degree together with postgraduate studies at the University of Music in Geneva.

She performed in Europe, USA and China and made her debut as a soloist at international music festivals, such as the Lucerne Festival 2019 or the DAVOS FESTIVAL 2021 and 2022, and with orchestras such as Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, International Chamber Orchestra of Washington, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra or Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw.

In 2014, as the first percussionist in history, Marianna Bednarska recorded a complete set of all Anders Koppel’s marimba concerts in her debut album Marimba Concertos (Dacapo Records).

Marianna Bednarska is a Yamaha Artist and a Kolberg Mallet Artist.
