Noxwode, an ensemble specialising in period performance of mostly 17th and 18th century music, was founded by Conor Gricmanis and Miriam Nohl in 2018. The ensemble has performed throughout the UK and the continent, and have proudly just finished their debut album of 17th century Venetian sonatas.

The ensemble has performed in prestigious venues such as St Martin-In-The-Fields (London), Coudenberg SoundBox Fest (Brussels), Handel’s Church (St George’s, Hanover Square, London) and has recently performed in St James’s Palace (London) with members of the Royal Family present.

August 2022 will see a 10 day residency for the ensemble in the Davos Festival, Switzerland, with three exciting programmes spanning from the 17th century, to 18th century France, and a recent contemporary commission for the ensemble.

Noxwode performs on period instruments, and have recently been granted a loan of 16th and 17th century instruments from a private collection in Oxford, including access to the 1572 Andrea Amati Violin on which the Venetian sonatas were recorded.

The members of Noxwode are both current students and alumni of the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Academy of Music in Ljubljana, and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
