Simona Ruisi, born in Rome, began her artistic training at the age of five, performing as soloist and with orchestra and winning prizes in national and international competitions. From 2011 to 2014 she was principal viola of the Orchestra Giovanile Rome with which she performed in prestigious venues in Italy and abroad. In 2015, she successfully graduated in viola from the Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rome and continued her studies with a two years Master’s degree in Opera. In 2018, she attended a Master in Media Entertainment – Music at LUISS University. Throughout her education she has participated in masterclasses with major violists.
She performs with the orchestras of Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale in Bologna and Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. As an active chamber musician she is a permanent and founding member of Duo Amaranta (viola and piano) and LuMiS Trio (clarinet, viola and piano) and performs in different formations such as piano duo, string quartet and piano quintet. As soloist she played Carl Stamitz’ viola concerto with I Musici di Parma in Salsomaggiore Terme.
