Théo Just

Théo Just | FRA | *1999

Théo Just is a young French dancer from Lyon. He started with all different kinds of dance from modern-jazz to contemporary and hip-hop before finally starting a ballet training. He spent two years at the Conservatoire Régional de Lyon before joining the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Danse de Paris under the tuition of Jean-Guillaume Bart, Laurent Novice, Bertrand Belem and Isabelle Ciaravola amongst others. In 2018, he graduated from the Tanz Akademie Zürich where Oliver Matz and Ivan Dinev were his main teachers.

In 2016, Théo Just competed at the Youth American Grand Prix in Paris where he won the silver medal and was offered scholarships for schools such as Paris Opera Ballet School, Dutch National Academy, Ballett-Akademie in Munich, and last but not least Tanz Akademie Zürich. During his studies he also competed at the International Ballet Competition in Spoletto where he received the bronze medal.

After graduation, Théo Just joined the Polish National Ballet as a corps de ballet member. There he danced as Fritz in Wayne Eagling’s The Nutcracker, in John Neumeier’s Lady of the Camelia and Swan Lake by Krzysztof Pastor/Liam Scarlett.

After one season in Poland, he decided to come back to Switzerland joining Ballett Zürich in the season 2019/20. In Zurich, he appeared in productions of Christian Spuck, in William Forsythe’s One Flat Thing, Reproduced, Crystal Pite’s Angel’s Atlas and Emergence, Chamber Minds by Edward Clug as well as Walking Mad by Johan Inger.

Théo Just has already choreographed for ballet evenings such as Creation 11 for the Polish National Ballet or within the framework of the Junge Choreografen series for the Ballett Zürich as well for the Italian school Il Balletto in Venice where Me to Me, by Us, W(e)men and Within a Look have been premiered.

For the season 2022/23, Théo Just will be joining the Staatsballett Berlin.
