Sofia Goetz

Swiss-Italian violinist Sofia Goetz is a versatile artist, celebrated for her passionate performances across Europe’s major concert halls, festivals, and orchestras. After completing her Master in Music Performance, she is now pursuing a Master’s in Music Pedagogy at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste with Ilya Gringolts and Anna Gebert, and has also studied Baroque violin with Monika Baer.

In 2024, she was engaged by the Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala on a fixed-term contract and regularly performs with I Cameristi del Teatro alla Scala, I Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala, and the Filarmonica della Scala. In Switzerland, she collaborates with the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana, Swiss National Orchestra, Arte Frizzante, City Lights and the Zürcher Kammerphilharmonie, where she has also appeared as concertmaster, among other ensembles. She has performed with the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, and was selected for the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Gustav Mahler Academy.

Her chamber and orchestral work has brought her to festivals such as the George Enescu Festival, MITO SettembreMusica, and Società del Quartetto di Milano. She has taken part in masterclasses with renowned musicians like Andreas Janke, Ilya Grubert, Pavel Bernan, Lorenza Borrani.

Sofia is also committed to exploring new approaches to music through research and creative projects. She was selected for a research project at the Zürcher “School of Commons”, focusing on more inclusive and innovative concert formats and the idea of listening tension. She also works as a social media manager for music institutions and completed the Innosuisse Business Concept Course at ETH Zürich, merging artistry with modern outreach.

She is currently training as a Suzuki teacher, eager to share her knowledge with the next generation of musicians.
