Europe-based Taiwanese cellist Yi-I Stephanie Yang is recognized for her sensitive and refined artistry. She recently made her debut with the Baden-Baden Philharmonie, performing Schumann’s Cello Concerto. Her appearances include performances at Berliner Philharmonie, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, First Monday Concert Series, A Far Cry, Borromeo Guest Artist Award, and at Carnegie Hall as a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar. A dedicated chamber musician, Stephanie is the cellist of Trio Sponte, Grand Prize winner of the 2024 Coltman Chamber Competition. The trio has performed at NEC’s Jordan Hall, Rockport Music, Austin Chamber Music, and concerts across Massachusetts. Stephanie has studied with Paul Katz, Laurence Lesser, Michel Strauss, Jan-Ype Nota, Itzhak Perlman, Vivian Weilerstein, Robert McDonald, Mark Steinberg, and Kim Kashkashian. She has performed with artists such as Christian Tetzlaff, Ida Kavafian, Miriam Fried, Gidon Kremer, Pinchas Zuckerman, Catherine Cho, Richard Goode, and Robert McDonald at festivals such as Kronberg Academy’s “Chamber Music Connects the World”, Four Seasons Chamber Music, the Perlman Music Program, Carl Flesch Academy, Taos, and Kneisel Chamber Festival.
