Modern and historical violist Joanna Patrick enjoys a varied performing career in chamber music and orchestral playing, which has taken her across the UK, Europe, South East Asia and the USA. In 2018 she graduated with First-Class Honours from the Royal College of Music in London under the tutelage of Simon Rowland-Jones and Annette Isserlis, where she was a prize winner in the 2018 RCM Concerto Competition and the 2016 June Emerson Prize for chamber music.
As well as holding positions as Principal Viola of both the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Chromatica Orchestraz, Joanna has played regularly with ensembles including the Academy of Ancient Music, the English Concert, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as touring as Principal Viola with the European Union Baroque Orchestra.
As the viola player of nomadic european chamber group Ensemble Mozaïque, Joanna travels around the continent performing in the ensemble's inventively programmed collaborations with singers, reciteurs and theatre directors. Joanna's recent chamber performances have seen her play at concert venues including Carnegie Hall, the Wigmore Hall and King’s Place.
