Nil Moreno

Nil Moreno (Barcelona, 2005) is a Spanish double bassist who is currently building his career with leading orchestras and musical institutions across Europe. He graduated from the Liceu Conservatory of Music in Barcelona, where he studied with Luis Cabrera, and will continue his studies with Rick Stotijn at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.

He has performed with ensembles such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the O/Modernt Chamber Music Orchestra, Musica Vitae, the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) and the Gran Teatre del Liceu. He has also performed with Utopia, the orchestra founded and conducted by Teodor Currentzis.

Former principal double bassist of the Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya, Moreno has also taken part in projects such as the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra and the European Youth Orchestra Academy. He is a scholarship holder of the Ferrer-Salat Foundation and winner of the Joves Talents Conservatori de Manresa award.
