Jiska Lambrecht (°1997) is a Belgian violinist. She is active as a soloist and as a passionate chamber musician. Jiska is the first violinist of the Turicum Quartet. 2023 the quartet got second prize at the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition (first prize not awarded). They made their debut in Tonhalle Zurich and performed together with the prestigious Gringolts Quartet. She forms a musical duo with the Italian pianist Marco Sanna. April 2024 their first cd Abendrot was released. As a member of CHAARTS Chamber Artist she realised the cd Suite italienne with Jonian Ilias Kadesha. Her performance of the string quintet of Eugène Ysaÿe received four stars in BBC Music Magazine. Jiska performed in most European countries and was invited a.o. to the Pau Casals International Music Festival, CLASSIX Kempten, Mizmorim Festival, GAIA Music Festival, Festival Academy Budapest, Kaposfest, Aurora Old Ox Music Festival and Ghent Festival of Flanders. She worked with composers such as Jörg Widmann and Michael Jarrell and played under the baton of a.o. Edo de Waart, Gábor Takács-Nagy and Howard Griffiths. Recently she performed as a soloist with Holly Hyun Choe, who was during two seasons the assistant conductor of Paavo Järvi. After her master’s degree in Cologne with Barnabás Kelemen, Jiska completed her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts with Ilya Gringolts, obtaining the soloist diploma. She also broadened her spectrum by studying baroque violin with Monika Baer.
