ESP | Violoncello
Miquel was born in Valencia in 1997. He studied at the Kononklijk Conservatoirum Den Haag and at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the classes of Michel Strauss and Raphaël Pidoux. It was during this period that he developed a passion for historically informed practice with Bruno Cocset.
He is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik Basel in Rafael Rosenfeld's class, where he also receives lessons from Anton Kernjiak (chamber music) and Petre Skalka (historically informed practice).
Together with pianist and violist Elise Hiron, they created the Duo Matilde Salvador i Segarra, with whom they are beginning a master's degree in chamber music in the class of François Salque and Claire Désert.
His passion for historically informed practice led him to join the academy of Kammerorchester Basel.
As a soloist, Miquel played Witold Lutoslawski's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra with the Sinfonieorchester Basel. In preparation for this concert, he wrote his own piano reduction of the Concerto.
He plays a cello made by the notorious french luthier Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume, generously loaned by an anonymous patron.
